To obtain a waste and sewage reduced electroplating plant a multiplicity of primary and secondary techniques are applied. The focal points lie in the range of the primary and secondary treatment, from which about 50 % of the galvanic sludges result. By means of tacted spray rinsing technology and recirculation the waste water quantity could be reduced to 20-30% in relation to conventional plants.
During the defatting an additional primary defatting is accomplished exclusively with hot water in order to save cleaning agents, whereby the majority the adhering oils and fats is rinsed off. The regeneration of the cleaning baths takes place by micro filtration and reverse osmosis. The pickling baths are up-concentrated by reverse osmosis and reused. The exhausted pickles are regenerated by separation of the contained metals iron and zinc with an ion exchanger. The iron solution is supplied to the waste water treatment unit, the zinc-containing partial current to the zinc sludge utilization. The so far non-usable metals iron, chrome and zinc of the chromating baths are selectively separated and recycled by gradual precipitation at different pH values. The waste water from the phosphatization is separately collected and treated, residues are supplied to the zinc sludge utilization. The process solutions from the de-metalization are separately electrolytically regenerated. The zinc and nickeliferous solutions of the electrolytic metal separation are circulated in a to a large extent closed cycle. The up-concentration of the rinsing water to be recirculated is accomplished in an energy-saving way by reverse osmosis and evaporation
